Musical tastes: varied and many, so anything from R&B to POP, but probably mainly aimed at the more 'Indie' crowd.

Styles: again mainly 'Indie' based people who are into the less ordinary.

Double Page Spread Analysis 3

This double page spread has been done in a rather retro style to signify the style of the era in which Jimi Hendrix's music was made. Because the article is about Jimi Hendrix then the retro style to the article really brings HIS style across to the readers. On the right hand side they have used many iconic images to bring across points made in the article itself. The layout has been very well put out so that all of the images are in one corner and can easily be found as reference.

The lettering is a plain black on a white background. On the left hand side they have included a huge image of Jimi Hendrix in mid lyric all along the far side of the page. They have also included a pull quote using the same retro style background as the rest of the layout.

Double Page Spread Analysis 2

This double page spread has been very simply done. There are two seperate images on each part of the two pages, showing Paul Mcartney recording his album, which is what the article is about. The article has been written out in black lettering on a white background and in a very simple Times New Roman style font. On the left hand page they have also included a few iconic images to help readers relate to the article itself. They have even put a pull quote at the top of the article on the left hand side using a background of a green apple whihc is then related to in the third image as being one of Paul Mcartney's record covers.

Double Page Spread Analysis 1

This double page spread is rather compact. The interview is on the left hand side and has clearly marked questions and answers. Each question has been marked out with black lettering and a cream coloured strip outline to signify that it is a question. In general the lettering is all white on a black background. The imge which is shown on the right has followed the colour scheme of the questions by having Ian Watkins wearing black and the backdrop behind him being of a cream coloured nature. They have also included a little 'fact bank' bubble on the image, almost used in a pull quote way, to outline the main points taken from the article/interview. They have also included a white arrow at the bottom of the interwiew, pointing towards the image to clearly signify that the interview is about the person in the photo (Ian Watkins).

Contents Page Analysis 3

This contents page has been done in a very simple way. All of the content is clearly marked out in an easy-to-read list. It is in black lettering on a light background. Underneath each title of everything listed there is a short description of what the content is about, to draw readers in to read the articles themselves instead of just browsing. They have also included an iconic image of Bob Marley alongside the content to show that he is also a main part of the magasine as well as Paul Mcartney and The Beatles who are on the front cover. They have even included a Pull Quote from Bob Marley at the bottom of the content, this would come across to the audience as being a rather special issue.

Contents Page Analysis 2

This contents page is quite crowded. There is a lot going on and I think at first look, readers would feel quite intimidated by it and not really know where to look to get what they want. But the magasine has tried to make it slightly more clear by putting titles above the listed content and underneath each title they have clearly marked out the content in black bold lettering on a white background. To the side of each thing listed they have put a page number in red. They have also included a lot of imagery on this contents page and carefully placed it around each section of content to allow the readers to relate to what is listed. They have also put a huge photo at the very top of the page to show what the magasine is about this week.

This particular contents page is very clearly layed out. There are 4 different images that have been used to signify the main content of the magasine. Each main content has been clearly written out in black lettering on a white background with a red line to underline it. And under each red line there is a short description about what the article in question is about, in case the reader did not immediately identify with the content from the title alone.
The images to show the main content are rather iconic and don't need a title because the reader's should KNOW what it is about just from the image. This particular part might just be for avid reader's who know the magasine well and are attracted to the normal artistic main content used in the magasine.
They have also made the image of Matt Bellamy HUGE among all of the others because of course he is on the front cover and his is the Lead Article, therefore they signify all of this simply from the size of the image. The image of him that they have used is also a deep contrast to the one on the front cover where he appears a "hell raiser" whilst in this image he looks really calm, cool and collected which will intrigue the readers to read more.
